Foundation Installation by DEME’s Vessel Innovation: The installation phase was well executed by DEME’s vessel Innovation, which efficiently installed 41 monopiles and transition pieces in a campaign spanning 68 days. The campaign comprised 11 cycles, with four sets per cycle, averaging 6.0 days per cycle.
Project Timeline: Notably, the project featured a relatively long float period of 140 days between the foundation campaign’s start and the initiation of the turbine campaign.
Turbine Installation: The turbine campaign commenced in early July, utilizing Jan De Nul’s Vole Au Vent. The vessel installed 41 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD turbines in 101 days. While the campaign had a somewhat slower start due to a learning curve and adverse weather conditions, the remainder of the campaign was executed closely to the industry performance standards for the turbine platform.
Vattenfall has a deadline of 31/12/2023 for full commissioning. The company has been transparent about facing challenges and potential delays in the full commissioning due to issues with the burial of cables (Source).
