WTG Installation by Vessel Company 2023
Cadeler once again took the top spot with a combined 186 WTGs installed between its four jack-up vessels Wind Osprey, Wind Orca, Wind Scylla and Wind Zaratan (the two latter added to the fleet following the merger with Seajacks). Fred. Olsen Windcarrier came in at a close second with 165 WTGs installed between three vessels Bold Tern, Brave Tern, and Blue Tern (175 if the 10 international installations by Blue Wind are included). Among other highlights this year we saw DEME Group & Van Oord installing turbines in the US utilizing a feeder barge setup, Heerema Marine Contractors installing turbines with their semi-submersible floating vessel Thialf.

Further, new activities were seen in the APAC region with the first installations from the two domestic new-builts Shimizu Corporation -Japan’s Blue Wind in Japan and Hyundai Engineering & Steel Industris’ Hyundai Frontier in South Korea. In Europe, Jan De Nul Group debuted their new jack-up vessel, Voltaire.
